Pickled Compost provides a simple, fortnightly food scrap collection service for Wairarapa businesses and households*(South Wairarapa households only)*, using a Bokashi fermentation system that allows all food scraps (including meat, bones, seafood, and dairy) to be safely diverted from landfill and returned to the our local land / whenua.

- Designed for businesses / organisations with consistently larger food scrap volumes i.e. schools, retirement villages and busier restaurants
What can go in the system?
All food scraps, including:
- Meat and bones
- Dairy
- Cooked food
- Seafood and shells
- Fruit and vegetable scraps
No need to separate like traditional composting.

- Place food scraps into your Pickled Compost bucket / bin system
- We collect and replace your bucket or bin fortnightly
- Food scraps are returned to farms, gardens, and soil systems in the region
*Why limited to South Wairarapa only for residential?
We are currently operating at a small, local scale to ensure reliable collection routes and high-quality processing of all food scraps into soil-building materials.
📍 Outside South Wairarapa?
We are currently not offering residential pickup outside this area, but we are building toward wider rollout across the Wairarapa.
