Introducing the Pickled Compost Starter Kit!  

Includes:

- 1x 75g (or 190g) pouch of Pickled*

- 2x new 10 or 20 Litre buckets

This is a great option for those who require a bucket to pickle or 'bokashi' food scraps in.  

With two buckets included it means once your first bucket is full, a second bucket can be started straight away to enable the first bucket 10-14 days to fully pickle.

A 10 litre Pickled Compost system is suitable for 1-2 person household.

A 20 litre Pickled Compost system is more suited to 3-4+ person households. 

*If used every day, 1x 75g pouch of Pickled will last 4-6 weeks.
1x 190 gram pouch will last approx. 10-12 weeks.

2x 10 or 20 L Food Grade Buckets with easy peel lids.
Includes a 75g or 190g Pickled Composting Flakes.

Care Instructions

Bucket Placement
Store in a cool, shaded place during warmer months (spring/summer)
Avoid direct sunlight in summer to prevent overheating and odours
In cooler months (autumn/winter), the bucket can sit in sunlight to support fermentation

Lid & Air Control
Keep the lid tightly sealed at all times
Open only when adding scraps, then reseal promptly
Less air = better fermentation

Handling
Add a layer of flakes with each addition of food scraps
Press scraps down to remove air pockets
Keep contents compact and covered

Moisture Balance
Your bucket will naturally hold moisture (no draining needed)
If contents look too wet, add a little extra flakes to rebalance or tip bucket on side to empty liquid. Can use liquid diluted as a plant fertiliser.

What to Avoid
Don’t leave the bucket in direct sun during hot weather
Don’t overfill — leave space to close the lid properly
Don’t leave the lid loose or open for extended periods
